This course uses a range of engaging and interactive approaches including:

  • Introduction to a cognitive-behavioural approach
  • The bio-psychosocial model and how to use it effectively
  • How to engage people in self management
  • Dealing with unhelpful beliefs and behaviours
  • SMART goals, action planning and problem solving
  • Linking mood, thoughts and behaviours
  • Preventing and managing set-backs
  • ‘Living well’ with a long term condition
